SALEM, Ore. - Greg and Taylor Barton are known up and down the west coast for mentoring young quarterbacks
and skill players from elementary school through college and into the professional leagues. Each class of
prospects that goes through the Barton program reinforces their reputation for putting out top prospects.

This year's Barton Football Marketing Workout saw nearly 300 prospects from the Northwest go through
their paces in front of a number of D2 college coaches. And sometimes the top players from Oregon will wait
for the afternoon Washington session to test themselves against the best from the Evergreen State.

In this case it didn't matter, as the top-two signal-callers at camp were a couple of Washington kids - Andy Gay
and Jake Heaps. The 2010 quarterback class for the state of Washington is looking fairly fierce, as Heaps already
has seven scholarship offers, and Gay has the potential to be right up there when it comes his time to sign on the
dotted line. What Gay lacks in experience, he makes up for it with size and determination. What Heaps lacks in size,
he makes up for it with experience, savvy, poise and a repertoire of throws that would make many college-level
quarterbacks envious.
